Bethlehen Bed and Breakfast

We have had the privilege of staying at the Cambridge House in Bethlehem.  It is a Bed and Breakfast which is the most common accommodations found in South Africa. You never really know how good or bad a Bed and Breakfast is going to be until you get there.  They are usually older homes that have been remodeled and rooms added to create accommodations for others.  Some B&B have only a few rooms and some have several rooms.  The amount you pay does not always guarantee that is will be better than another.  This B&B is both very reasonable and quite nice.  We have enjoyed both times we have stayed there and the cost is R550 which is equivalent to about $55.00.

This is the front of the Cambridge Guest House.  It is gated and has razor wire around the exterior.  I am not sure if that makes me feel safer or more concerned because they feel the need for such security.  Most places here in South Africa have similar protection.

The picture on the left is one of the covered carports for our cars.

The picture on the right shows the fish pond that you pass as you go to the office to check in.  I love the sign for cats that fishing is not allowed.

This is our room.  We got the same room both times we stayed there.

This is in the alcove on the way to the breakfast.

This is what we had for breakfast along with eggs, bacon, sausage and tomatoes.
Here are some pictures of the fun things around the B&B.

This is one of the patio areas.

One of the walk ways from one place to another.

A fun little patio cover.

The Garden was full of old things, plants, fountains and statues.  It was a fascinating hodgepodge of metal, wood, plaster, brick and plant live.
So much beautiful brick work all over the place.

Can you imagine sitting here with your honey.

Wouldn't you love to have this in your back yard.

Loved the old bike.
This reminded me of Mr. Scott's Car

Lunch in the garden anyone
